The big GDC Europe conference this August in Cologne, Germany is coming up fast, and today event officials are happy to debut another important talk for the show.
As always, GDC Europe’s Production and Business, Marketing and Management tracks of talks host similar but notably different selections of sessions that aim to shed light on both the day-to-day realities of producing games and the practical challenges of making a living in the process. However, the talk we’re announcing today seeks to do both.
In his session on “Indie Outsourcing For Any Budget,” former Capcom Japan developer and current Abyssal Arts managing director Keaton White aims to provide developers who feel they’re trying to achieve something beyond the scope of their skills and budget a practical path towards realizing their dreams.
During his hour-long session, White will give proven examples of how game makers can collaborate effectively with external developers and artists on a limited budget. He’ll also share real-world examples drawn from his own indie experiences in outsourcing about how to scale creative business strategies to fit independent development.
